Micro Manufacturing with Laser Sintering A Scaled-up Process
At present, Selective Laser Sintering (or SLS) process permits to manufacture functional components from nearly all kinds of materials, with a remarkable speed even though the geometry of the model is very complex. It proceeds in successive additions of powder layers, sintered by a powerful and focused laser. Existing equipments ds not seem to be designed for accuracy. In order to push ahead the limits of the process, an experimental pilot has been designed and realized, attending to precision and flexibility. Thus the present pilot can allow to increase dimensional accuracy and to reduce surface roughness.
