TITLE
Modelling of Crystallization in Injection Molding. A 3D Approach with a General Formulation of the Kinetic Law

ABSTRACT
The purpose of the present work is to develop a crystallization model and to introduce the crystallization laws obtained into Rem3DI, a 3D code written in C++ and dedicated at the base to polymer injection molding. We have kept the basic hypotheses of Avrami's model and cast the kinetic equations into a differential system that is solved numerically. The variation of the density of potential nuclei with temperature is taken into account in this new approach. Furthermore, the distribution of mean spherulite sizes can be deduced from the computations. Some typical results concerning the evolution of the transformed volume fraction and the numbers of potential and activated nuclei in an injected part are presented.
