TITLE
Shape Defects Measurement in 3D Sheet Metal Stamping Processes

ABSTRACT
Elastic springback occurring after sheet metal stamping processes can be considered as a manufacturing shape defect. In this way, in the paper a measurement technique based on the shadow moiré method is utilized to evaluate the springback phenomenon in deep drawing operations. Proper quantitative coefficients are introduced to describe the investigated effect. In particular the developed technique is able to acquire the final lateral surfaces of the drawn parts, once extracted out from the dies and to compare such surfaces with the ideal ones derived from the dies CAD geometry. The proposed technique has been applied to a deep drawing operation of rectangular boxes and moreover the influence of the blankholder force level has been taken into account.
