TITLE
Anisotropic Damage for Aluminium

ABSTRACT
This paper presents a damage model for elasto-viscoplastic materials, taking into account both the material and the damage anisotropy. The material anisotropy is introduced by means of Hill's potential in the yield function and the damage anisotropy by the shape of the microvoids. The void is defined as an ellipsoid which can evolve in shape and direction according to the loading direction and the geometry of the structure. The damage is then expressed as the microvoid volume fraction due to growth, nucleation and coalescence of microvoids. An original formulation of the damage evolution law is presented to take the damage due to shearing into account. A radial return algorithm is used for the implementation of a new constitutive law for elasto-viscoplastic porous materials for convected shell elements in an explicit finite element framework. A methodology for the identification of the damage parameters has therefore been developed. This identification is carried out by two inverse methods, based on the experimental results of tensile tests performed on notched tensile specimens and Arcan type tests.
